A Gastonia child’s one, heartfelt wish will soon be granted. Four-year-old O’Niyah Lynch has battled Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia since a young age. This Saturday, Blue Bunny will help Make-A-Wish grant her wish to be a princess as part of Blue Bunny’s 100 Years, 100 Wishes program.
This Saturday, O’Niyah will be receiving the royal treatment prior to her fourth birthday party celebration! She will begin her day at the spa, getting a manicure and pedicure. Completing her royal transformation, O’Niyah will don a white dress, gloves, princess shoes and tiara. She will travel in a carriage through the city to arrive in style at the Ritz Carlton for her birthday party and Blue Bunny ice cream social. O’Niyah will share her special day with family, friends and special fairytale guests Cinderella and the Little Mermaid.
O’Niyah’s wish is part of a national effort by Wells, makers of Blue Bunny Ice Cream, to help Make-A-Wish grant 100 wishes in honor of Wells’ centennial year. It’s Wells’ 100th birthday wish-come-true that 100 kids with life-threatening medical conditions have their wishes granted. Wish-granting events are taking place across the country, each celebrated and captured on 100Years100Wishes.com.
Join the celebration and lend support to the 100 wish kids by signing the Wish Card at 100Years100Wishes.com. The collection of signatures and messages will be delivered to each of the 100 wish kids in October 2013 in celebration of Wells’ 100th birthday on October 24, 2013.

Make-A-Wish® grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. According to a 2011 U.S. study of wish impact, most health professionals surveyed believe a wish-come-true can have positive impacts on the health of children. Kids say wishes give them renewed strength to fight their illnesses, and their parents say these experiences help strengthen the entire family. Based in Phoenix, Make-A-Wish is one of the world’s leading children’s charities, serving children in every community in the United States and its territories. With the help of generous donors and more than 25,000 volunteers, Make-A-Wish grants a wish somewhere in the country every 38 minutes. It has granted more than 226,000 wishes since its inception in 1980; nearly 14,000 in 2012 alone. Visit Make-A-Wish at wish.org to learn more.
