Make-A-Wish® is proud to celebrate the corporate donors who make it possible to keep our mission growing and to help us keep granting wishes. Each month, we would like to recognize a corporate donor that has truly made a difference to our organization through their generosity of time, donation or spirit.
This month we would like to showcase The Andrew Roby Family of Companies, a general contracting company that serves the Carolinas. The company has deep roots in Charlotte and has served this area, with its subsidiary brands (Roby Electric, Roby Commercial, RoBee, RobyCross and Roby Realty) since 1950.
Since 2011, The Andrew Roby Family of Companies has hosted The Pitchin’ for Wishes cornhole tournament in the Charlotte area and has raised over $1,000,000 for Make-A-Wish in the process. This incredible event holds two Guiness Book World Records for being the “Largest Cornhole Tournament in the World”. In addition to engaging the community in this fun and creative campaign to raise funds, Roby is also a mainstay at the annual Wish Ball Gala, and has generously donated kitchen and bathroom remodels to the event auction. The team at Andrew Roby consistently goes above and beyond to raise more funds each year, and has helped to fund over 160 wishes through all of their philanthropic support.
The Andrew Roby Family of Companies is committed to giving back to the community, and we cannot thank them enough for bringing hope, strength and joy to our local wish kids!
