Henry’s hobbies include playing with fire trucks, reading books about them, and visiting fire stations frequently. He and his mother visit so often, he is an honorary member at his local fire station. His passion for all things fire fighting-related sparked when Henry saw pictures of the Marine 1 station with the 343 fireboat in a magazine. His wish to see the large fireboats in New York City resulted in something even bigger. Henry was sworn in as an official FDNY fireman and received an official badge that he shows off often.
Henry has a form of dwarfism, Cartilage-Hair Hypoplasia. His condition led to severe immune deficiency and anemia. He received a bone marrow transplant to rebuild his immune and blood system, which he has fully recovered from. He is now able to go to school and participate in activities such as tae kwon do.
Henry’s wish made him and his parents feel special. He looks at pictures from his wish frequently and it brings him lots of joy.
