“ Her mother said her favorite part of the wish experience was seeing the pure joy in Anna’s face during the trip. ”

Anna was diagnosed with Synovial Cell Sarcoma, a rare cancer affecting the soft-tissue cells of the body at age 15. At a time when she should have been worried about prom and applying to colleges, she had to focus on chemotherapy and undergoing surgery. Despite the hardships she faced, Anna remained upbeat and spent time cooking, photographing and crafting. She plans to study marine biology at the University of Hawaii at Hilo.

During her treatment at Brenner’s Children Hospital, she was offered the chance to have a wish granted. After careful thought, Anna decided to go to DisneyWorld®. Being an only child gave her the chance to bring a friend with her to enhance the experience.

Along with her parents and best friend, Sara, Anna spent the week of August 7, 2013 vacationing in Disney. She was able to ride all of her favorite rides, experience the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and tour Epcot. Anticipating and attending the wish gave Anna a renewed appreciation of life. She is looking forward to graduation and attending college. Her mother said her favorite part of the wish experience was seeing the pure joy in Anna’s face during the trip.
