Like many five-year-old girls, wish kid Madison loves animals, playing with dolls and anything involving her favorite colors pink and purple. Unlike many young girls, Madison was diagnosed with Wilms’ tumor, a type of kidney cancer. Despite her condition, Madison is a sweet, happy and fun-loving girl who enjoys spending time with her two sisters. When thinking about her wish, Madison couldn’t wait to go on an American Girl shopping spree in New York City.
Madison started her trip to the ‘big apple’ with the day she had been dreaming of. The whole family rode in style as a limousine picked them up and headed for America Girl Place. When they arrived, they enjoyed a delicious brunch at the American Girl Cafe before the shopping spree began. Madison had so much fun touring the store and picking out a new doll and accessories. Before leaving, they made sure to stop by the salon so her doll could get special pampering and of course a new hairdo!
While in NYC, Madison and her family got to do plenty of sightseeing including a visit to the Statue of Liberty, a day at the Central Park Zoo, and a trip to the top of the Empire State Building. The family also took a carriage ride around the city and loved walking around Times Square. Madison’s new American Girl doll is the perfect companion for her as she continues to face her fight against cancer.
