Ava was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy when she was five years old, which has kept her in a wheel chair ever since. Despite her condition Ava has continually been an awesome, intelligent, extremely well-loved young lady that can’t keep a smile off of her face. She is fascinated with Polly Pockets, Cinderella, shopping, and watching the Disney channel. Deciding one true wish came with no hardships for Ava, she knew that her heart was set on going to Disney World! When asked why this was her number one wish she even said, “Disney World is the place where dreams come true!”
Ava was able to have her dreams come true just like she had hoped. Before leaving, she was given a send-off party fit for a princess that included beautiful princess gowns, a princess cake, and even princesses and other members of the royal court. During Ava’s wish she had the time of her life meeting princesses, visiting the castle and spending quality time with only her family and not a whole team of medical staff. She was able to be a seven-year-old little girl and indulge herself in royalty, living like a princess for seven whole days! This trip gave her family a sense of togetherness that they haven’t been able to enjoy for such a long time.
