Kings Mountain High School Mounties Make-A-Wish Club presented a check to Make-A-Wish for $2,500! The club works throughout the year selling cookies at football games and allowing students and community members to make a donation and request a special message on the marquis in front of the school.

Jessica Wall of East Bend will be completing a nearly 30-mile hike as part of a unique fundraiser for Make-A-Wish called the Trailblaze Challenge. “I like trying new things and pushing myself, and when I learned that I could do that and give back to my community, I was totally hooked,” Wall said.

Buncombe County Sheriff’s Deputies are not allowed to have beards, but for the month of February Deputies can donate $40 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation in return for a no-shave waiver that allows them to have neatly groomed facial hair. The no-shave waivers are part of a larger effort to raise $12,000 in sponsorships ahead of a June 1 Trailblaze Challenge.

Asheville Cardiology Associates dedicated their annual service project to hosting a “send-off” party for 3 year-old wish kid Bexley, who received a trip to Disney World. Contributions for the party were made by team members throughout the practice.
