Scene & Heard: Daddy-Daughter Date Night

Ten-year-old AnneLeigh Twer, Junior Honoree of the W.I.S.H. Society , spent her summer helping to raise money for Make-A-Wish kids. One of her efforts: the group’s first Daddy-Daughter Date Night, held Sept. 12 and co-hosted by Chima Brazilian Steakhouse uptown. The night included dinner, dancing, dessert and a motivational talk by Stuart Stout, father of Hope Stout, whose wish before dying in 2004 was to grant the wishes of 155 children on the waiting list at the time.

Twin City Stage Takes us Into the Woods

In keeping with the “I Wish…” theme of the show, Twin City Stage will partner with The W.I.S.H. Society during the run of Into the Woods. A wishing well, designed and built by TCS’s new technical director, Justin Glinn, will be placed in the lobby to welcome donations for this worthy cause. All of the money raised will go to the foundation and will help to make a difference in the life of a local child.

Knights Sign Shenise to One-Day Contract


Earlier today at a press conference held at BB&T Ballpark, the Charlotte Knights announced the signing of Timothy "Eli" Shenise to a one-day contract. Shenise, a 12-year-old boy from Pineville, NC, signed the one-day contract at BB&T Ballpark.
