Mother to Hike for Make-A-Wish

David and Crystal Voss know what it feels like to be on the receiving end of Make-A-Wish America. In 2012, their son Zachary was granted a wish to visit Disney World.

In June, Crystal will participate in the Trailblaze Challenge, a trek along the Bartram Trail through western North Carolina, to raise $2,500 for Make-A-Wish Central and Western North Carolina. Voss will hike 24.1 miles of the trail, which crosses significant peaks.

A tiny princess from Gastonia named Nina was asked what she would wish to do, if she could do anything her heart desired. Her response: “I wish to go to a castle and meet Rapunzel!”

After battling through 16 months of surgery, radiation and chemotherapy, Nina got her wish through a partnership of Gastonia Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram and the Make-a-Wish of Central & Western North Carolina.

Jack Bolton Becomes Coach For A Day

Jack Bolton became an associate coach for the Carolina Panthers for one day last August with help from the football team and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Jack, 9, has spinal muscular atrophy, and through the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Panthers learned of his wish: “I want to coach with Ron Rivera.”
